Healing Beyond Diagnosis

Dr. Lifestyle offers integrative medicine for individuals navigating complex or persistent health concerns. Our approach focuses on understanding how clinical findings, lifestyle factors, environment, and stress physiology interact—so care moves beyond surface-level symptom management.

When no one has clear answers

Many patients seek integrative medicine after years of unanswered questions—when symptoms persist despite testing, or when treatment plans don’t fully explain what’s happening.

If you’ve been told “everything looks normal,” yet continue to feel unwell, this approach is designed to slow things down, connect the dots, and offer a clearer path forward.

Complex and Chronic Conditions
We Commonly See:
  • Long COVID
  • Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
  • Mold toxicity
  • Food sensitivities
  • IBS & SIBO
  • Eczema, GERD, chronic fatigue
  • Cognitive and mood disorders
OUR APPROACH

A clearer path from questions to a personalized plan

Healing is rarely one-dimensional. We bring your history, symptoms, labs, lifestyle, environment, and goals into one connected view—then build a practical plan around what matters most for you.

01

Listen deeply

We start with your full story—not only the symptom that brought you in. Your timeline, priorities, and lived experience help shape the evaluation.

02

Connect the dots

We review medical history, medications, nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, environment, and relevant diagnostics as one connected system.

03

Build your plan

Together, we prioritize realistic next steps. Care may combine conventional treatment, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, supplements, and targeted testing when appropriate.

04

Learn and refine

Progress is reviewed over time. We adjust the plan based on response, new information, and what is sustainable in your everyday life.

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)

What is MCAS? A pattern of inappropriate mast-cell mediator release that may affect skin, digestion, breathing, heart rate, and more.

What we look for: Symptoms can shift across systems and overlap with allergy, inflammation, and autonomic concerns.

How we approach it: We review triggers, symptom patterns, medications, and relevant testing, then coordinate a cautious, individualized plan.

Mold Exposure & Related Illness

What is mold exposure? Damp or mold-damaged environments can worsen respiratory and allergic symptoms; individual responses and other causes must be considered.

What we look for: Exposure history may intersect with asthma, allergy, immune symptoms, sleep disruption, and chronic stress physiology.

How we approach it: We clarify the environment and symptom timeline, prioritize exposure reduction, and use clinically appropriate evaluation rather than one-size-fits-all protocols.

Heavy Metal Exposure

What is heavy metal exposure? Exposure to metals such as lead or mercury can affect neurologic, kidney, blood, and other body systems.

What we look for: Symptoms are often nonspecific, so history and validated testing matter more than assumptions or broad “detox” protocols.

Our approach: We identify credible exposure sources, use appropriate testing, reduce ongoing exposure, and discuss evidence-based treatment or referral when indicated.

Lyme Disease & Coinfections

What is Lyme Disease? Lyme disease is a tick-borne bacterial infection; other tick-borne infections can occur alongside it and may require distinct evaluation.

What we look for: Presentation and timing vary, and persistent symptoms can overlap with autoimmune, neurologic, or post-infectious conditions.

Our approach: We combine exposure history, examination, guideline-informed testing, and careful differential diagnosis—then coordinate treatment and follow-up.

Our Promise

Natural, personalized care

Integrative medicine does not replace conventional care. It expands and coordinates it. Our physicians use modern diagnostics alongside lifestyle and functional strategies to better understand contributing factors such as inflammation, digestion, immune balance, hormones, and stress response.

All recommendations are made carefully, collaboratively, and with patient safety as the priority.

Dr. Mondala provides integrative and lifestyle-based medical care for patients with complex, stress-related, metabolic, and inflammatory concerns. Her work emphasizes careful listening, clinical clarity, and personalized care planning.

Dr. Yu specializes in complex immune and inflammatory conditions, offering integrative rheumatology and systems-based evaluation for patients seeking deeper understanding and long-term support. Together, they provide coordinated, physician-led integrative care—never protocol-driven, never rushed.

Dr Micah Yu is an excellent doctor! He has helped me feel so much better and has given me a much better quality of life and for that I am very grateful! Dr. Mondala exceeded my expectations of functional medicine. She is detailed in her questions seeking to understand not only your physical health but also your spiritual health. She truly seeks to understand and care for the whole person. I am not a vegan, but she supports my nutrition and encourages me to try to incorporate new foods and recipes. She’s caring and thorough. I highly recommend her.

Diane G.

Dr. Micah Yu is the absolute best. He has been very informative about my issues with Auto Immune Dieases. Prior to him becoming my doctor I had no idea what really was going on with my body. Because of him I’ve stopped smoking and am eating somewhat healthier. He’s compassionate and cares about his patients. He is leaving the facility where I have been treated however wherever he goes he’ll definitely be an asset to all he encounters. Love you Dr. Yu.

OMG! Best doctor ever- AMAZING! I take my health extremely seriously (life is too precious and short not too). A REAL doctor concerned with your life, not just the symptom. She is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and present. It is as if you have an expert coach, confidante and physician accompanying you on the ups and downs of the life journey with you. I could never return to the regular medical model physician after experiencing Dr. Mondala. Simply THE best!

Maryloyola Y.

Dr. Yu is absolutely amazing. I went through two rheumatologists and a fancy primary care clinic before finding Dr. Yu. I have rheumatoid arthritis and Dr. Yu’s protocols are a mix of traditional medicine and integrative health, which is exactly what I was looking for. I was struggling to find someone who cared about the holistic-health approach, and Dr. Yu ended up being the perfect fit! You can tell he cares about his patients and is incredibly knowledgeable. I highly recommend

Dr. Yu is a great doctor who gave me a second opinion for my ankylosing spondylitis. He’s given me more pathways to consider on top the standard treatment, including a lot of information on diet, exercise, supplements, and general life with ankylosing spondylitis.

Billy G.

Making the switch to Dr. Mondala as my primary care physician has filled my life with positivity and support. She takes her time with me and is always available when I need to see her. She has such a great wholistic approach to healing and wellbeing and I am so grateful to have her in my life.

Susan A.

Dr. Mondala has been the best primary care physician I have been to. She goes above and beyond for caring for me and my family whether its through traditional means or her lifestyle care. She always answers all my questions and concerns no matter the day or time. Anyone who chooses to have her as her PCP is doing themself a favor.

Jose C.

Dr. Micah Yu is a very caring doctor. Have been to several other RA Doctors and He has shown the most compassion and dedication to my individual needs.
Would recommend Him to those who are wanting individual care.

FAQ

General Questions

What is the advantage of Integrative Medicine?

Integrative medicine’s main advantage is that it treats the whole person rather than a single lab value or organ system — pairing conventional diagnostics and pharmacology with nutrition, movement, stress physiology, gut health, and environmental factors to address root causes, not just symptoms
